Jumping Mouse, which includes the “Meadow” jumping mouse and the “Woodland” jumping mouse, can be found statewide in Ohio, and are well known for jumping great distances. When startled, they can jump repeatedly in 3 – 4 feet leaps as high as 9 feet. Jumping Mice are slightly larger than that of a common House Mouse. Species concern in several states due to low numbers places them on in need of management list.
